USA Counseling and Testing Names New Counselor

Shanta Jenkins comes to the 小蝌蚪APP with 15 years of experience as a mental health and substance abuse counseling professional.

Jenkins, a native of Ocean Springs Miss., is responsible for individual, relationship and group counseling in Counseling and Testing Services at USA, where Dr. Robert Hanks serves as director.

Jenkins earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology and a master鈥檚 degree in community counseling from USA.

Jenkins said she has always been fascinated with how the mind works and what motivates a person鈥檚 behavior and actions. She describes herself as a compassionate person who enjoys using her professional skills to help improve the lives of many.

鈥淚 have always had a strong desire to help others and assist people with the challenges of daily living,鈥� Jenkins said. 鈥淢y career has been extremely rewarding and it has led me to a sense of purpose and meaning. I am grateful to be able to continue my work here at USA.鈥�

Jenkins said her goal as a counseling professional at USA is to empower anyone she helps to be more confident in themselves and live a better life.
