Сòòò½APP

Alumni Giving

Four grads holding their diplomas.

The Сòòò½APP, we're the pride of the Red, White, and Blue. Loyal, strong, and faithful to our Alma Mater true. It’s more than a fight song—it is YOUR University. From the first time you stepped on campus as a freshman to the moment you received your diploma, South was, and will forever be, your home. There are many opportunities to give back to your University — all gifts are appreciated and no gift is too small. Thank you for being a loyal, strong and faithful alumni.

Ways to Give

â–¼   Julian and Kim MacQueen Alumni Center

The Julian and Kim MacQueen Alumni Center is the home for South’s more than 93,000 alumni. Located in the heart of campus, the 15,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility will house the Chief Calvin W. McGhee Grand Ballroom, the McKinney Family Greek Plaza in honor of Sigma Chi Fraternity, a spacious lobby, a 30-seat boardroom, meeting rooms and administrative offices.

Plans for a new alumni center began in 2015 and became a reality when Julian ’73 and Kim MacQueen came forward with a $2 million gift. Julian MacQueen, founder of Innisfree Hotels headquartered in Pensacola, realized the importance of building a permanent alumni home on campus.

The MacQueen Alumni Center opened its doors on January 24, 2020. Read the story here.

â–¼   1974 Society for MacQueen Alumni Center

Join the 1974 Society today, and become a part of USA alumni history.

The 1974 Society, named for the year the Alumni Association was founded, is a vital source of funding to build the Julian and Kim MacQueen Alumni Center. Your gift of $1,974, payable over three years, allows you to become an integral part of this exciting new facility. Only 1,974 memberships are available, and all 1974 Society members will be recognized in a prime location in the Center’s lobby for everyone to see and enjoy for years to come.

If you prefer to pay by phone, please call the Office of Alumni Relations at (251) 460-7084, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover over the phone. Сòòò½APP employees can have donations to the 1974 Society deducted from their paychecks each pay period. This is a very easy way to give back to the Alumni Association. Simply complete the USA faculty and staff payroll bi-weekly deduction form or the USA faculty and staff payroll monthly deduction form and return to Stephanie Powell, slpowell@southalabama.edu or by mail at MacQueen Alumni Center 100 Alumni Dr., Mobile, AL 36688-0002.
