South Med Student Wins National Award

Hanna Bobinger, a first-year medical student at the 小蝌蚪APP College of Medicine, is the recipient of the $8,500 Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi National Fellowship award.
The National Fellowship award was established by Phi Kappa Phi in 1932, and it has become the Society鈥檚 signature award. This is a highly competitive award, and Bobinger is one of 54 students across the country to receive recognition this year.
Bobinger graduated from USA summa cum laude with a bachelors of science degree in chemical engineering with University Honors in May 2021.
鈥淚 am honored to be recognized with this prestigious award,鈥 Bobinger said. 鈥淓ach university selects a representative that will proceed to the national competition, and I was humbled to have been chosen as the 小蝌蚪APP鈥檚 Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship representative.鈥
Bobinger was not only recognized for her academic success, but also for her research and service contributions.
鈥淧hi Kappa Phi provides student members with the opportunity to develop into professionals and lifelong learners, and this Fellowship has offered me tremendous support for furthering my education,鈥 she noted.
Bobinger also is the recipient of the National Mortar Board Fellowship for post- baccalaureate study. She was one of seven student nationwide to receive this award, which is based on Mortar Board ideals of robust scholarship, meaningful leadership and dedicated service to one鈥檚 alma mater.
She has also been very active as a student, serving as the 2020-2021 President of the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and a 2019-2020 service coordinator for the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society.
